Why have I got this big plastic thing on my head?”
“I keep banging into furniture and my tummy hurts too."
”It’s because you had an operation  yesterday. You have to have it on so you don’t lick  the wound".
“ It's’s called an Elizabethan Collar.
“Well I don’t like it. I won’t lick my tummy if you take it off”
"Sorry darling, the vet says you have to keep it on"
“Well why did I have an operation anyway. I was really scared”
"It is to stop you having puppies"
“Oh, okay. I don’t think I would have liked lots and lots of puppies. I like being special”
"Has Ferlo had the operation to?"
"No because he can't have puppies"
"That’s not fair. When can I go out to play?"
"Not at the moment - you have to keep quiet so your stitches don't come open"
"I'm feeling a bit tired now"
"OK lie on your bed and have a little nap - when you wake up you can try eating some more chicken and rice"
