Thought I would be busier!

Thought as it was a weekend of celebrations in Normandy we would be very busy going places.  It started well  when we had 4 lovely paratroopers come for dinner on Thursday. They were Americans, one was a Major,2 were Sergeants and 1 was a Staff Sergeant. They made such a fuss of me!!  Mum had invited Ian and Mavis as well so everyone had a really good time.
We were hoping to see them jump on Sunday - but the weather was so bad - we looked at this

They were going to jump today - but again the weather wasn't good enough - so I will have to wait until next year to see them.

What a wash out for the D Day celebrations.  Over 750 paratroopers (from USA, France  Germany and Great Britain) were hoping to jump over La Fiere. This is a bridge near St Mere Eglise, which was liberated by the Americans on June 6th 1944.

Hope we have  more paratroopers to dinner next year!
