Mont Castre

Even though it's been a grey and miserable day - we headed up  to Mt Castre for an evening dip in the lake (me that is - not mum & dad!!!!
It was great - so cool (and wet!!)  Loads of fun swimming after a stick and jumping in and out, shaking myself all over mum & dad!

After a run round the lake it was home for tea. Dad  then set fire to some of my wood and the lounge suddenly got very warm. Mum said it was cosy - but it was too hot for me so I stayed out in the hall.
Why don't you humans grow nice furry coats, like us dogs, to keep warm?

Mum told me that my friend Florrie (he's a cat - but a very nice one!) is rather poorly at the moment. He's been to the vets several times and has a big bandage on his front leg - so painful!  Also the other cats who live with him are also not well (some kind of flu I think). I hope they all get better soon and Florrie and I can share some more secrets!!!  Get well soon my friend.

Ala prochaine

  1. Why didn`t you pull your mum in for a swim? She would have loved it!

  2. Hi Freya florrie here. Thanks my friend for all those good wishes. I must admit the last week has been pretty dire. It all started about ten days ago. I was out for the night, a bit of exploring, some tin roofing, a little hunting but not much about and then without so much as a sound I was knocked off my feet. I instinctively rolled onto my back and flexed my claws ready to protect myself when I felt a searing pain in my neck and then as I swung my foot to attack, my leg received a painful bite. The strange thing is, I didn’t even properly see the critter, it caught me off guard, but I tell you one thing, it was enormous, the size of a lion and more, and a nasty looking beast. Even with my SAS training, I was out classed by that thing. So I had to go the doctors and they put me to sleep, I couldn’t believe it, anyway the next morning my leg hurt like nothing you could imagine, and when the doctor took the bandage off, well it wasn’t a pretty sight. Since then I have been going to the docs time after time, injections galore and… to make things worse I am grounded, still they say I can go out today provided I come back early and if I see that beast, I will be ready for him, he won't catch me off guard again. I could do with your help really; bet you could take the smile off his face?
    Speak soon my friend

  3. Shirley - mum said she will go in next time as long as you come too!!!

What a nightmare Florrie you must have been really frightened. Big as a lion? - ohh not sure about that - perhaps I had better stay inside until it's gone. Glad you are on the mend - and don't forget to go home before it gets dark!
