FIRE! FIRE! dial 18 mum!!!

This afternoon we decided (well mum did!!) that we would go to Mont Doville!  I had never been before so I was quite excited about it. It started so well - a nice walk past some ruins and along the top of the hill.

 According to this map - that's La Haye du Puits over there!!

Spectacluar views all around and no-one about.
As  we turned to back up the hill towards the little church - dad spotted some smoke and on investigating found that some heathland had caught fire. It seemed to be well alight - so as mum had her mobile with her she dialled 18. Mum did really well - she told the pompiers that there was a fire on Mont Doville near the church (all in FRENCH!!!). A cyclist came over and mum asked him to give more details to the pompiers.

Not long after the gendarmes arrived to look at the fire, then the fire engine came up the road and headed off towards the fire.  What excitement!  although I was a bit scared of the fire so dad kept hold of me.

Hope this evening has no more incidents - there is only so much a puppy can take!!!!
